Castleton Residential Feb 2025
We took our Y5s on a free residential to Castleton Losehill Youth Hostel. Children were given the opportunity to build on friendships and social skills whilst working in nature. They took a long hike along the hills and created camp fires to toast bread on. They even got to sit and listen for nature around them during the evening. All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the trip and cannot wait to go on their next residential.

At Milefield Primary School, we aim to provide clubs for all age ranges and support their academic and physical development. Clubs will change regularly, keep your eyes on Twitter for updates and sign your pupils up as soon as possible. To sign your child up to a club, please download the free Arbor app and book their place online. This will send an email to confirm. Check your junk/spam for this. If you are unsure, speak to their class teacher.
A group of pupils took part in a sustainability audit and looking at pollution in our school and local area. They enjoyed working with a specialist and testing our water in school. We will be taking part in a variety of eco activities to ensure we have a small carbon footprint and support sustainability within our school and local area.
Autumn 24:
Our Y6 pupils took part in a 2 nights, 3-day trip to Windemere for their residential. They enjoyed a wide range of activities which developed resilience, high expectations and team work…
Spring 23:
Our Y6 Computing Ambassadors were lucky enough to be chosen to attend the annual Kids Judge Bett Awards at London’s Excel Arena. The pupil travelled down the day before and spent the day seeing famous London sights such as the Natural History Museum and Buckingham Palace! They even got to travel to the Arena via cable car over the Thames. Both pupils chose a company who makes robots which work with non verbal and children with SEND to ensure they feel safe and can communicate. Our pupils stood on the large stage in the arena and spoke with confidence and clarity about why these chose the company for their award.
Our pupils in Key Stage One were lucky enough to fly on a magical sleigh to meet Santa in an enchanted wood. They sent their letters to Santa, told him in person what they would like and received a magical key to a toy shop where they could choose whatever they wanted! All pupils thoroughly enjoyed their trip and meeting Santa! Below are some pictures from our trip:
All pupils in school were invited into the magical story of Snow White & The Seven Dwarves run by M & M. Pupils were captivated by the storyline and the engaging acting and
dancing! Some teachers even joined in!
Class 5 and 5/6 were lucky enough to take part in the Bright Nights project with Amazelab and Eldon Nights. Children designed and created their own LED light sequence badges and flags for the parade. They then stitched these onto their own t shirts and wore them with pride in the parade on Saturday 25th November. The turn out for Milefield was fantastic and it was lovely to see their designs in the parade with so many people there!
In September 2023, our Y6 pupils went to Tower Wood to complete a 3 day residential. Below are some of the activities they enjoyed whilst there:
