At Milefield Primary School, we take the safety of our pupils very seriously. It is our prime concern. In an increasingly technological world, pupils are spending more time online and using mobile devices to play games and interact with others in the wider world. Therefore, we have signed up to a National online safety service which enables all parents in our community to have access to free online training about how to keep children safe online and 100s of free help sheets and guides too. Please click the link and sign yourself up to complete free training. If you would like any support or use of a computer, do not hesitate to contact school and we can arrange this for you.

If the answer is yes, then you must read on...
Social networks and online apps are ace! They allow you to connect with a variety of friends and unknown people. You need to know how to use them safely though...
You may think cyber-bullying and abuse will never happen to you, but don't get caught out!
Remember to report anything which seems odd and unusual to a trusted adult. If you feel sad or upset by what someone sends you, don't delete it-keep it. Show a trusted adult. If you speak up, we can help you. The best thing to do is not respond and show a trusted adult before you allow it to upset you.
Make sure your parents/carers know what you are using and check your accounts regularly. Treat your login details like your toothbrush, don't share them with anyone!
Remember- you are not alone! No matter what anyone says to you. We can always help at school too. If you would like to speak, here are the key people in school you can speak to:
- A trusted friend
- A teacher/ teaching assistant
- Mr. McClure (Online safety leader/Deputy Head)
- Mrs Trickett (Acting Headteacher)
- Miss Jones (Well-being team)
Do not suffer in silence! Remember, abuse of any kind is unacceptable! We do not stand for it at Milefield. CEOP is the Child Exploitation Online Protection service and they have report abuse buttons which link straight to the police. They have very useful websites here:
The report abuse button looks like this:
