Milefield Primary School

Engage, Inspire, Empower, Learn

Our School

Milefield Primary is a community school where children are encouraged to reach their full potential and become the best learners. This is reflected in our school vision:

'Engage, Inspire, Empower & Learn'

Milefield Primary School is situated in the ex-mining village of Grimethorpe, near the town of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The school is located on edge of Grimethorpe village and we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by ample grounds. Milefield comprises of:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage Unit
  • Key Stage 1
  • Key Stage 2

At Milefield we pride ourselves in providing high quality education for children aged 3-11 years; we currently have a pupil population of approximately 275. The school's popularity leads to occasionally oversubscription of places and classes are generally sized around 30 pupils.
